Our Dream Project “Homage to Senior Citizens” is exclusively planned and designed as our mark of respect, dedication and to value their good services of yesterday and for our better today. This project is particularly for those who are lonely and staying away from their nearest and dearest for one reason or the other and may have to pass their remaining days in the same condition.

With the above sincere feelings, emotions and sentiments “Homage” is coming up for the care and concern for those who are holding the torch that can guide us back to life by allaying all our fears and limitations at a place called “Konnagar”, a town just 24 kms away from Kolkata on the bank of the Holy river Hooghly, situated in the district of Hooghly and in the state of West Bengal.

“Homage” will provide care services which will ensure a very satisfying life for all our senior citizens. Our Care philosophy which we will use as a yardstick for continuous development and improvement of our services, will be a resident centre and our care policies will focus on individual needs, not institutional routine. Our Care staff will have a thorough and complete plan on an individual basis, to suit each and every senior citizen. Our faith is in respecting each senior citizen as an individual and as people in their own right and we wish to aim to promote each persons potential to lead a dignified, private, independent and fulfilled life.

We will encourage our senior citizens to exercise choice in their daily living so that , they can reinforce their sense of identity and self-esteem. This will help them to take decisions about their own care, day to day routines and social activities. We will help our senior citizen in medical, financial or personal problems with strict confidentiality. Our ultimate aim will be to create a secure and safe environment where our senior citizens will feel totally safe, cared for and free from worry.

For ongoing development process, comments and suggestions from senior citizens or from their relatives will be always welcomed and encouraged by the "Homage".

"Homage" is ready in all respect and will be officially open for admission from  20th April 2007. Homage will initially accommodate 24 senior citizens, on a twin sharing basis (per room) with attached toilets / baths with modern fittings and fixtures.

Rooms have been designed to be airy, open to sunlight and pollution free with additional scenic beauty from the flowing water of the river Hooghly . Decor and paintings inside the Homage and within the rooms and the passages will be simple but due consideration will be given to take away psychologically the irritations of the aging members to keep them lively and cheerful as much as possible.
